Certified Peer Specialists (CPSs) are a critical component of our behavioral health workforce in Georgia. DBHDD is considering the roles for this CPS workforce across the crisis continuum as part of the rollout of 9-8-8. Certified Peer Specialists already hold crucial recovery-oriented roles in Georgia's crisis infrastructure, including within the crisis call center, within peer-run warmlines, on Mobile Crisis Response Services (MCRS) teams, and in Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU)/Behavioral Health Crisis Centers (BHCC).
